Sun Aqua Yoga

The most spiritual human moments involve water, from baptism to ritual bathing in the Ganges. Water inspires the human spirit and cleanses the body, heart and mind. We are all connected to the Earth’s water and its vital influence on life.

What is Sun Aqua Yoga?

Sun Aqua Yoga is a combination of classical yoga and the use of man’s love of the water. We use a mixture of classiscal yoga postures adapted for water, breathing and relaxation techniques. It is gentle but effective, using the buoyancy from the water to provide support in postures to achieve deeper stretches which might not be possible on land.

Who is Sun Aqua Yoga for?

Aqua yoga is suitable for all fitness levels, from the super-fit to those requiring remedial work. No previous experience of yoga is required, and it is suitable for both swimmers and non-swimmers alike.

It is particularly useful for those with joint problems such as arthritis and fibromyalgia, pre and post natal women, those recovering from injury or surgery, mature persons, over weight persons, those suffering from high blood pressure and those with a fear of water.

Sun Aqua Yoga for Pregnancy?

Water is well suited to pregnant women because it is supportive and therapeutic. Carrying the weight of a child can sometimes be a strain on the body. Water gives pregnant women freedom of movement making exercise enjoyable particularly if you are suffering from backache or are overweight. The buoyancy also allows you to exercise on your back without restricting oxygen to you or your baby.
