Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to bring my own mat?
We do have some mats which people can borrow for the class. We recommend that you purchase one at some point because it is more pleasant to use your own mat.
Can I do yoga even if I am not flexible?
Yes. No-one is too inflexible to experience the benefits from yoga practice. Your body will develop its strength and flexibility at its own rate. Regular yoga practice will encourage flexibility.
Should I eat or drink before yoga?
Everyone is unique, so you need to find out what works best for you. In general, it is recommended that you don’t eat for about 2 hours before practicing yoga. It is also recommended that you drink plenty of water before and after the class to avoid dehydration.
What should I wear?
Clothing should not restrict the movement in any way, most people wear t-shirt and shorts or leggings. Yoga is practiced in bare feet.
Can I do yoga if I am pregnant?
Pregnant women can gain many benefits from gentle yoga. It helps you to breath, relax as well as providing the physical and emotional stress relief you need throughout the experience of pregnancy. Be sure to tell the teacher you are pregnant and which trimester you are in. If this is your first pregnancy, we strongly recommend you attend a prenatal yoga class – this is a great way to meet other mothers to be, share experiences and to embark on the journey together.
