What is Sun Power Yoga?

Yoga is a sanskrit word which means "to yoke" or "to unite", it is the bringing together of the mind, body and breath. Sun Power Yoga is a unique blend of three different styles of yoga. It is a flourishing and innovative style which is perfect for our modern times yet still contains tradition yoga priniciples. It brings together Dynamic Hatha yoga for alignment, Sivananda yoga for subtle mind and breath work, and Astanga vinyasa for heat, flexibility, and stamina.

Our classes include relaxation and pranayam (breathing techinques). These help us to reduce stress, control emotions and still the mind. Asanas (poses) are included to improve strength, stamina, flexibility as well as massaging and stimulating the internal organs and systems of the body. The aim is to create both a healthy mind and a healthy body.

Who is Sun Power Yoga for?

Everyone can practice yoga, regardless of age, gender or ability. Those with certain medical conditions should refrain from practicing certain aspects of yoga, and others may be practiced with modification. Please tell the yoga teacher before the class if you suffer from any conditions or injuries.
